HMPYOI Swinfen Hall Studio - 03/11/06

Much progress has been made with the studio at Swinfen Hall following on from the work our Arts and Business Advisor, Iain Suffield.

The works department at Swinfen Hall are beavering away at bass traps and the like for a classroom which will be a pemanent studio space to be used way beyond the life span of this project.  They report how inmates have been involved:

“….the lads are enjoying the work. We have knocked out for the new door and installed the door and frame we have removed the old kitchen and installing the new front wall as I write which will form the sound booth, all the sound baffels are made in the shop, we are awaiting the form and covering material, we have started the electrics by pulling the cable into a new distribution board and if the boxes are moved over the weekend we can continue…”
