Conference exposure - 03/11/06

Liz Muge, Director of Make Some Noise (partner in Sonic [db]) reports…

“The joint Arts Council England (ACE) and Youth Justice Board (YJB) Conference on Monday 18th September 2006 was an excellent opportunity to hear about other programmes being carried out through partnerships between arts and youth justice organisations.  As well as some inspirational examples of the impact of our work the event provided a very positive update on the value that the Arts Council and the YJB, as well as national Government (through the presence of both David Lammy MP and Patricia Scotland MP) place on the work we are carrying out.  We are obviously entering a period of significant potential with regards to developing and sustaining work such as the Sonic dB project but were also eloquently reminded of the need to provide hard evidence of the impact of our work in addition to the vital need to change public perception of the importance of arts on some of our most vulnerable young people - as young offenders are.”
